FOCUS ON JESUS

The subject of today’s blog is a little different from normal. I have noticed that various things are grabbing for my attention, and these things seem to divert my focus from Jesus and onto the concerns of this world. I must remain focused on the tasks Jesus has purposed for me while I am on this earth. I also need His perfect timing!

It seems that people all around me are passing away for various reasons, and I am not sure if all of them were saved when they passed. Why am I unsure? Because I have been so busy doing things for the Kingdom of God that I haven’t focused on what really matters: the people He loves. I should know whether or not they are living for the Lord because I have talked with them about Him and shown them a godly example. I have an influence and a circle of people in my area of influence. It is my responsibility to reach out to them, visit them, and talk to them about a relationship with Jesus—what it looks like in reality and how to acquire it!

Please do not lose focus on what really matters today! Love what Jesus loves and hate what He hates. I apologize that today’s blog is short and lacks extensive scripture, but the one scripture I have in mind is Matthew 16:24-28:

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His Kingdom.’”

We must not think of ourselves and what will benefit us but instead look through the eyes of Jesus, see people the way He sees them, and have compassion for their souls. It is time to reap the harvest for Jesus! Seek His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Have a blessed week.
